Save Energy

The FlyBack Energy L8000 intelligent Lighting Energy Saver (iLES) saves energy by capturing 5% or more of net energy lost through Reverse Electro-Motive Force (REMF), and by achieving up to 50% energy savings by giving facility managers the ability to dynamically dim lighting circuits in a smooth linear manner. This is a breakthrough technology.

Energy savings will accrue by combining L8000 iLES with existing HID or Fluorescent (with magnetic ballasts) lighting circuits. FlyBack Energy provides facility managers with the ability to intelligently control light levels to match tasks and ambient conditions, in any commercial and industrial  setting. Greater savings can be found by going ahead with a planned HID to Fluorescent retrofit and then employing a dimming scheme.

L8000 iLES will easily integrate with and be controlled by existing building management system (BMS) or energy management control system (EMCS) to achieve:
• Agile dimming with occupancy sensing
• Daylight harvesting to avoid over-lighting
• Task specific lighting level settings
• Lower lighting in outside venues with arrival sensing

Conquer Heat

Excessive heat in high-energy C&I light fixture components — specifically ballasts — is a damaging, costly byproduct of REMF energy loss. Because the L8000 captures energy previously lost, ballast life is prolonged; lowering replacement and maintenance expenses.

In the thermal images on the right, a pair of Metal Halide 1000 Watt HID ballasts have been energized for three hours. There is a significant difference in the heat signatures between the ballast with the L8000 (on the right) and the ballast operating by itself (on the left).

Implement Fast & Economically

Traditional retrofit solutions require wholesale ballast, lamp, and/or fixture replacement, entail high labor costs for installation, and inconvenience employees and customers. Conversely, the L8000 iLES implementation is fast, easy, and reasonably priced. L8000 iLES retrofits can be achieved by an electrician at ground level in one to two hours per circuit.

L8000 iLES are mounted in NEMA enclosures, and as shown in the diagram, installed on the source side of each retrofitted circuit. The iLES is also an ideal cost-cutting solution for new construction projects.
